Process Safety
We seek toapply theprinciplesof process
safetymanagement in thedailyoperationsof
our business toprevent,mitigateand respond
tomajor incidents that can result in serious
harm topeopleand theenvironment. Every
month,we carefully trackand report theprocess
safetyperformanceof our operations against
leadingand lagging indicators tomeasureour
performance. Doing sohelpsusprevent safety
incidents,mapearly trends,mitigate risksbefore
theyoccur, and learnand further improveour
operational performance.
Inaddition,wehave revampedand reviewed
ourManagement of FacilityChange (MOFC)
process in2015, a significant component of our
overall approach toprocess safety. Theassociated
procedures andpolicieswereupdated in line
with thenewprocess, taking into consideration
thedifferent roles and responsibilitiesof all
stakeholders involved.
Process SafetyManagement Campaigns
In2015, DolphinEnergy conducted two surveys
to collect input frommanagers about areas for
improvement inprocess safetymanagement
at the company. Thefirst survey targeted the
company’suppermanagement by focusingon
the commitment toprocess safetyat the facilities
managed,while the second survey targeted
middlemanagementwithquestions relating to
thegoodpracticesof process safetyat each facility.
Basedon the survey results, twoProcessSafety
Management (PSM) campaignswerededicated
to increasingunderstandingof process safetyand
PSMKeyPerformance Indicators (KPIs).
During thePSM campaigns, our process safety
KPIswerebrokendownanddiscussed. In total,
four PSMawareness sessionsweredelivered to
ensure company-wide coverage that included the
locationsof Ras Laffan, DolphinEnergyTower in
Doha, andour offices inAbuDhabi. The sessions
deliveredkey informationwith regard toeachof
the 11 laggingand leadingKPIs, includingdata
gathering, reporting, trendingand target setting.
Inaddition, opportunities for improvementwere
discussed to support additional target setting.
