Occupational Safety
During2015,weachieved zero lost time injuries
and fatalities amongour employees and
contractors. However, thenumber of recordable
injuries increased tofive in total; oneemployee
injuryand four contractor injuries (threemedical
treatment cases andone restrictedwork case).
TheTotal Recordable InjuryRate (TRIR) for the
entireworkforce increased from0.20 to0.68
as a result. This increase inTRIR reflects the
challengeof securingan injury-freeworkplace for
large-scaleprojects.Wewill continue to target
thedevelopment of a safeworkingenvironment
whereno injuriesoccur.We thoroughly investigate
each incidentand identify the root causesowecan
takeaction toprevent reoccurrences.
In2015, FieldHSE inQatar achievedamajor
reduction in thenumber of incidents in theplant
includingbothequipment failures andhuman
errors,with50% less than2014.Many factors
contributed to thisdecrease in incidents including
awareness sessions, fewer equipment failure
incidents, lessons learnt fromprevious years and
timely incident investigations.
Therewerealso zero incidencesof occupational
illness amongour employees and contractors
in2015. InNovember 2015, our employees and
contractors celebrated reachingan important
milestone inour offshoreoperationsprogram
byachieving sevenyearswithout a lost time
incident (LTI) sinceoperationsbegan in2007.
