MeetingSummerDemand in theKuwait
DolphinEnergy successfully ran6ExportGasCompressors (EGCs) continuously at over 97%
availability each from July toOctober todeliver 375millionSCFPDof diverted liquefiednatural
gas (LNG) to theKuwaitduring the summer peakmonths of highdemand. As a result, theKuwait
had less need to switch toback-updiesel generatorswith their higher emissions.

EnsuringReliability
Inaddition toenhancing itsprocessingand
transmission capacity and expanding its
supply of natural gas, DolphinEnergy is
alsoworking to ensure reliability through
eliminating all unplanned interruptions
to its supply of gas to customers.
For example, theminor supply interruption
whichoccurred in2013didnot affect our
customers, butwascountedasnot having
achievedour goal of zerounplanned
supplydisruptions.
DolphinEnergy’sefforts toensureprocess
safety and emergency preparedness
(detailed inChapter 2, page 22) are
integral to ensuring reliability.
The company’s preventivemaintenance
program, aswell as itsperiodicpatrolling
of networkpipelinesandcomprehensive
surveillancesystem, exists toprotect the
integrityof itspipelinedistributionnetwork.
Thepreventivemaintenanceprogram
ensures routinemaintenance isperformed
at aplanned interval toprevent sudden
unplanned failures incritical equipment.
ExpandingOur Supplyof Natural Gas
DolphinEnergywill continue to secure
and transmit quantities of interruptible
third-party gas fromQatar Petroleum
to supply volumes beyond the 2.0billion
standard cubic feet per day (SCFPD)
that DolphinEnergy is authorized to
extract from its offshoreplatforms in
Qatar’sNorthField. In the future, project
expansionmay provide additional
sources of uninterruptible gas from the
north fieldblock onceQP’s Expansion
Moratorium is lifted.
DolphinEnergywill monitor commercial
arrangements and technical expansion
efforts so that activity can advance
promptly upon liftingof themoratorium.
EnhancingOur Processing and
TransmissionCapacity
DolphinEnergy is alsoworking to
enhance the transmission capacity of its
Ras Laffanplant through its Export Gas
Compressor (EGC) upgradeproject.
Current upgrades toDolphinEnergy’s
Ras Laffan facilitiesmeans it is capable
of receiving andprocessingon average
2.37billionSCFPD.
TheEGC expansion, planned for
completion in 2015, has thepotential
to takeDolphinEnergy’s total gas
flow capacity to 3.2billionSCFPDwith
three new export gas compressors. In
anticipationof importinggreater volumes
of gas to theKuwait, DolphinEnergy
is also examining the feasibility ofmore
pipelines to improve supply to the
NorthernEmirates, inorder to address
the gas balance and energy balance
of theKuwait.
