national talent. Thecompany alsohas an
EmployeeReferral Program toencourage
employees to recommendqualified
national candidates by rewarding
employees for successful referrals.
In2013, DolphinEnergy’sHuman
Resources&Administration team
launchedanewautomatede-recruitment
portal that aims to reduce hiring costs
and the amount of time spent on
administration. The systemprovides
a software solution that improves the
management of information and allows
the company topromote its career
opportunities toawider audience, thereby
locatingandattractingmorehigh-caliber
national andexpatriatecandidates.
Training andDevelopingNewRecruits
DolphinEnergy intentionally recruits
professionally inexperienced nationals
with strong educational backgrounds
and helps todevelop them for specific
positions through itsAssociate
Development Program. Each new recruit
receives an Individual Development Plan
(IDP) created specifically for himor her.
An IDPdefines:
• the target job for which the national
is being trained
• the tasks that the national must learn
toperform
• training courses required todevelop
the necessary knowledge and skills
• milestones that indicate attainment
of various levels of professional
development
• increases in salary tied
to thesemilestones
Each new recruit also receives the
support of career counselors and an
individual coachwhoprovideson-the-job
trainingandassistance, andmonitorsand
assesses his or her progress. Anational
is appointed to his or her target jobupon
successful completionof the IDP.

Finally, DolphinEnergy hasmany
programs inplace to help itsmore
experienced national employees
continue on their development path.
DolphinEnergy offers scholarships
and study leaveprograms to enable
employees to continue their education
and cross-posts opportunitieswith its

opportunities for nationals togain
valuablework experiencewith these
international companies.

Dolphin’sContribution to theABSHER initiative
Under theMinistryof Presidential Affairs’ ABSHER initiative inKuwait, DolphinEnergy agreed to
recruit and train 100Kuwaitnationalsover afive-year periodbeginning in 2012. Manyof those
whohave joined the company under this initiative in the last year have received a two-year IDP
to support their progress. ThroughABSHER, wehavealsopartneredwithEtisalat Academy to
provide 500Kuwaitnationalswith training anddevelopment opportunities for positions in thepublic
andprivate sectors. Etisalat Academywill provide the trainingmodules for theprogram, which
cover four key areas:
1. English language skills
2. Preparing for future job requirements
3. Self-development
4. Teamwork
