Supporting theLocal Economy
DolphinEnergy relies onover 1,000
suppliers of goods and services, which
means our procurement spending
generates a significant economic impact
andsupports thedevelopment andgrowth
of other companieswithin thesupplychain.
Procuringgoods and services from local
suppliershelps toboost national economic
development and, in turn, supports our
business objectives of providing energy
to a thriving anddiversifying economy.
In2013, DolphinEnergy awarded
76.7%of its total procurement spending
to supplierswith a local presence.
In 2013, DolphinEnergy launched a new
e-registrationportal (basedon the 2012
pilot program), designed to establish a
new intelligent and updated commercial
directory for theprocurement and
contracts division. This systemwill make
it easier for new vendors to register
withDolphinEnergy and compete for
contracts, allowingDolphinEnergy to
makeRequests for Proposals available
to vendors and suppliers electronically.
The company invited all the vendors
registered in its olddatabase to register
their information, including services,
expertise, technical capacities and
products, amongst other things.
DolphinEnergy alsopublished notices
in local newspapers inorder to reach
out tomore local suppliers. Theportal
will thus provideDolphinEnergywith
greater opportunities to satisfy its
demand for goods and services from
within the local market, thereby further
enhancing the company’s contribution
to the local economy.
