Sustainability is not just the responsibility
of one individual, company, or country:
it is a global concern that requires action
by everyone in his or her personal life
and at work. Inorder tohelp raise
employee awareness about the concept
of sustainability andmake it part of the
company culture, DolphinEnergy offered
sustainability awareness sessions
to all employees in 2013.
The training aimed to improve staff
awareness on sustainability topics and
DolphinEnergy’s performance, to
promote a sustainable and socially
responsible culturewithin the company,
and to encourage the adoptionof
sustainable lifestyle choices byDolphin
Energy’s staff. One-hour sessionswere
offered across all DolphinEnergy’s
locations, with 185 employees attending.
SustainabilityWeek
Following the launchof the 2012
sustainability report, DolphinEnergy
held a ‘SustainabilityWeek’ topromote
awareness and engage employees
and their families in the sustainability
accomplishments of DolphinEnergy.
During theweek, employees had the
opportunity toparticipate inasustainability
report quiz; thosewho answered all
questions correctlywere entered into
a raffle towingift vouchers.
Amodeling competitionwas held
to engage employees’ children and
grandchildrenon environmental issues.
Participantswere instructed to construct
amodel usingonly reused and recycled
items. The competitionwas divided into
three age groups: ages 5-8were asked
tomodel an element from the natural
environment; ages 9-12were given the
theme of representing their relationship
with the natural environment; and ages
13-16were asked todemonstrate their
personal solution for a sustainable future.
