Additionally, company occupational
nursing staff is available to provide advice
to staff, andwhere applicable treatment
for serious diseases is provided to
employees and their families under the
applicable terms and conditions of the
companymedical assistanceprogram.
On the other hand, according to the local
laws serious diseases suchasHIV/AIDS
andHepatitis are systematically tested for
with expatriates, andexpatriates are not
allowed to reside in the country andwould
be deported if thedisease is diagnosed.
Dolphin’s concern for employees’ welfare
is not restricted to its employees, but also
to thosewhowork for its contractors.
Dolphin’sHSE obligations under the
main contract are also obligatory to all
contractors and their subcontractors.As
suchDolphin expects itsHSE standards to
beuniversally appliedand fully enforced.
During2009, one contractor accounted for
73%of all lost time incidents although only
responsible for 16% of all hoursworked.
This level of poor HSE performance is
un-acceptable andDolphinmanagement
has taken anumber of remedial actions to
improve this situation. Corrective actions
taken include regularmeetingswith the
Contractor’s executivemanagement
to developurgent HSE improvement
plans comprisingof increased levels
of field supervision and sub-contractor
management, more inspections and
audits, direct engagement withall sub-
contractor representatives and field
personnel to enhance communicationand
improveworkplace health and safety. For
