Maintaining security represents a
challengingmission for any company
operating in the petroleum sector. In
DolphinEnergy, security is handled
internally but supplementedwith outside
specialists as andwhennecessary, and
external security of facilities is handled
by regulatory, municipal or civil defense
experts such as theCritical National
InfrastructureAuthority (CNIA) or RLC
SharedServices.
Acompany-wide initiative has been
undertaken to improve Information
Security. The recent publication of detailed
policieswas backedup by relatedmemos
from both theKuwait andQatar GMs and
fromQHSE&Sdivision. Information
Technology andAutomation (IT&A) have
conducted anawareness campaign
throughpresentations to staff at each
of the company’smain locations, and a
“UsageCharter” has beendistributed.

FirstAidTraining, CardioPulmonary
Resuscitation (CPR) andAutomated
External Defibrillation (AED)
Medic FirstAidPlus is a fundamental training program in emergency care, designed to
provide studentswith life saving skills.All floor wardens and security personnel have
been trainedand certifiedby theOccupational Healthdepartment. The basic plus
certificate is valid for two years and allows trained employees to provide first aid, CPR
andAED. Seventy-four floor wardens and security personnel have sobeen trained and
certified.

Healthy LifestyleCampaign
TheDolphinEnergyTower andQOPOccupational HealthClinics conducted a three
month ‘Healthy Lifestyle’ campaign to raise awareness of health related issues.
Aquestionnairewas issued to participating staff, relating to current andpast medical
conditions, familymedical history, current diet andphysical activities. Occupational
Health staff also collectedbaselinemedical statistics including height, weight, body fat
analyzer, andbloodpressureandblood sugar levels. To conclude the campaign, Occu-
pational Health staff assistedparticipants to set goals for improving their health, which
also included diet counseling.A total of 57employees participated fromDolphin tower.

BloodDonations
TheMobileRedCross blooddonation vanwas parked on the ground floor of Dolphin
tower. Many employees attendedand gave blood to help those in need.

InfluenzaVaccinations
In linewithDolphinEnergy’s commitment to continuous healthprotection for all
employees, occupational healthServices – together withQatar Petroleum– held an
InfluenzaVaccinedriveat theDolphin tower occupational HealthClinic. The campaign
was a success, with a total of 49 employees vaccinated.

DiabeticAwarenessCampaign
Diabetes is a serious illnesswith lifelong complications.Andwhile there aremore than
38,000 peoplewith diabetes inQatar, we identified diabetes as onehealth and safety
threat that deserves attention and requires us to instigate preventativeawareness
among employees.
For this, Ms. Rawhia from thenational HealthAuthority inQatar delivereda presenta-
tion on diabetes and diet that included valuable informationon how toprevent diabetes
through diet and exercise. Twenty-seven employees fromDolphin tower attended this
informativepresentation.
H1N1SwineFlue
DolphinEnergy has responded to the international call for preventativemeasure in the
spread of theH1N1 virus, and theQHSE&Sdivision’s team coordinates their efforts to
monitor the spread of the virus and assesses any potential impact on the healthof its
employees, their families aswell as the risk on business continuity.
Aspecial task force teamwith representatives fromOperations, HumanResources,
QHSE&S andCorporateCommunications, was convenedwhen thebreakout of the
virus began inApril 2009. The team assumed the responsibility of following thePan-
demicResponsePlan, which is already inplace, andmaintained timely communica-
tionswithHealthDepartments inboth theKuwaitandQatar to ensureupdate information
regarding the virus, areproperly communicated to theCompany’s staff.
