The nationalization of DolphinEnergy’s
workforce is a strategic business objective,
alignedwith the national objectives of
both theQatari andKuwait governments.
To reach the targets, preference is given
tonational employees in hiring for all
vacancies, unless the position is highly
technical and suitable local candidates
arenot available. In case of replacement
of existing expatriate employees, local
candidates are given preference for
sourcing and hiring.
In2009, 38 of 68middle and senior
managerswereeither Kuwait or Qatari
nationals. This is equivalent to 56% of
themanagement team. In terms of total
workforce, Kuwait operations successfully
achieved 34%Emiratization, whileQatar
operations achieved 22%Qatarization.
DolphinEnergy attributes its improving
performance on this issue inQatar
to theestablishment of a dedicated
nationalization section, alongwith a new
five-year Qatarization strategy, focusing
on attractingQataris to the company’s
DohaandRas Laffanoperations.Asimilar
section has now been established in the
Kuwait.
