Inaddition to the training and development
programs for national staff as outlined in
the human resources section, Dolphin
Energy also invests ineducation and
human resourcedevelopment programs
that extend beyond employment ranks.
Since 2004DolphinEnergy has offered
internship programs for undergraduate
students fromuniversities and higher
colleges.This has given scores of young
people an opportunity to gather practical
workplaceexperience, while supporting
the development of a talent pipeline of
future qualified recruits. DolphinEnergy is
alsoa supporter of Tawteen, anEmirates
Foundation initiative set up to prepare
youngEmirati men andwomen for careers
in theprivate sector by developing skills
and unlocking their potential. Tawteen
enlists private and public sector support
in creating and delivering specialist
pilot programs. DolphinEnergy played
a key role in inviting theKuwaitHigher
Colleges of Technology for the design and
implementation of the theoretical part of
anoil andgas program. Since the program
started, 23 female students attended
andgraduated from this 100 hour oil and
gas sector course focused on soft skills
needed for the industry. DolphinEnergy
has also been a sponsor of theMaa’bar
Al-Najaah or ‘Bridge toSuccess’ program
which supported the recruitment of Emirati
women into positionswithin theenergy
sector.
DolphinEnergy also supports community
awareness programs on the environment.
For example, DolphinEnergy has
sponsored a pilot environmental program
for the collection of expired batteries at
10 schools in theAbuDhabi Emirate. The
schools selected arebothgovernment and
private, with three of them inAl Ain.
