Material Consumption
The conscientiousminimization of
resource usage is another priority for
DolphinEnergy that contributes to both
environmental andeconomic gains. This
encompassesmaterial consumption, water
consumption, andwaste reduction and
management.
Themainproductionprocess uses rawwet gas extracted fromgas fields to produce
natural gas and other valuablebyproducts. In2009DolphinEnergy processed 867,219
MMscf of rawwet gas.

Water
Desalinated processwater for operations
is provided throughKahramaa, Qatar’s
water and electricity provider, andwhere
possible the processwater is retained in
the production process.
Separate from the processwater, non-
contact coolingwater is provided through
the shared services group of RLC.All
coolingwater is returned to the common
coolingwater channel and there is no
consumptionwithin theplant. Thewater
is subject to stringent testing upon receipt
and before disposal back to the common
coolingwater channel. No other sources of
water are usedat Ras Laffan.
In theKuwait, water is providedby theAbu
DhabiWater andElectricityAuthority
(ADWEA) from desalination. Domestic
water is recycled throughonsite sewage
treatment facilities at both locations and
used for reticulation of landscaped areas.
