In 2009, DolphinEnergy initiatedan
internal sustainabilitywork group to evolve
theQHSEManagement Systemand
overall approach to business to include all
aspects of sustainability. The sustainability
work group acts as an internal cross-
functional vehicle chargedwith embedding
sustainabilitymanagement practices
across all business units.
The statedobjectives of the sustainability
work groupareas follows:

Become familiar with sustainability
management practices
•
Captureand validate critical business
data related to social, environmental
andeconomic performance indicators
as outlinedwithin theGlobal Reporting
Initiative (GRI)
•
Raise awareness andunderstanding
of theprinciples of sustainability,
encourage the integrationof these
practices into the company’s business
model, and helpensure performance
gains

Provide a forum for learning and
knowledge sharing andexploring
relevant topics of sustainability
management practices, including good
governanceand sustainability reporting
The sustainabilityworking groupmembers,
alongwith a small number of other internal
stakeholders, received thirdparty training
in 2009.As an informed team they have
led thedevelopment of this sustainability
report, consolidate the company’s priority
areas and understand its baseline
performanceacross awide range of
economic, environmental and social
performance criteria.
