Byproducts
DolphinEnergy also seeks to further
reduce the impact of themain product by
optimizingand capturing the byproducts
of the production process. This not
only dramatically reduceswaste, but
providesmultipleadditional lines of
revenue. The byproducts are separated,
processed and optimized for distribution.
Themain byproducts optimized include
condensate, LPG, ethane and sulphur.

Condensate
Low sulphur condensate is anultra-light
form of oil that is a valuableby-product
of DolphinEnergy’s rawgas production
andprocessing. The condensate is sold
on term or spot basis to customers and
cargos are loadedat Ras Laffan for
shipment to enddestinations. Theaverage
daily productionamounts tobetween
90,000and100,000barrels of condensate.
First cargoswere sold during July 2007 for
shipment inAugust 2007. In2008Dolphin
Energy announced theaward of a 212
millionUSD contract todouble the capacity
of Qatar’s low sulphur condensate storage
facilities.
LiquefiedPetroleum
Gas (LPG)
The liquefied petroleum gases propane
and butaneare valuableby-products of
DolphinEnergy’s gas processing facilities
at Ras Laffan. Theaverage annual
production of LPG is 1,322Kt. Propane
and butaneareusedas fuel for industrial,
domestic, automotive and agricultural
processesworldwide, aswell as in
petrochemicals production. Butane also
has specialized uses in gasoline blending.
Ethane
Ethane is extracted during gas processing.
The averageannual production of ethane
is 318Kt. Ethane is utilizedas feedstock
for the ethane cracker inQatar.
Sulphur
Sulphur has to be extracted from the raw
natural gas during processing to comply
with international health, safety and
environmental standards. DolphinEnergy’s
averageannual productionof sulphur is
236Kt. Sulphur is soldworldwide and
largely used for the fertilizers production.
