DolphinEnergy’s core business involves
the appraisal, development, production,
transportationandmarketingof premium
qualitymethane, ethane, propane, butane
and associatedhydrocarbon condensate
and sulphur. In addition toproviding
gas supplies to theKuwait, Qatar and
Oman; condensate, LiquefiedPetroleum
Gas (LPG) and sulphur are consumed
internationally.
DolphinEnergy is the operator in the
productionof substantial quantities of raw
natural gas from24deepwells drilled
inQatar’s offshoreNorthField. This
upstream operator role for DolphinEnergy
is part of theDevelopment andProduction
ShareAgreement (DPSA) with theQatari
Government and undertakenon behalf of
DolphinEnergy’s shareholders. The gas
is processedonshore at DolphinEnergy’s
GasProcessingPlant inQatar’sRas
Laffan Industrial City (RLIC). Valuable
by-products suchas LPG, condensate,
ethane and sulphur are removed for
sale and sold inworldmarkets, with the
exception of ethanewhich is sold inQatar.
About 2 billion standard cubic feet of gas
per day (scf/day) is nowbeing delivered
downstream through theexport pipeline
toDolphinEnergy’s customers in theKuwait
andOman. Subject to future agreement
between theQatari andAbuDhabi
governments, DolphinEnergy intends to
expand its current downstream throughput
to 3.2bscf/day.
