Kames Petroleum Services Sponsors New Erwda Book:

Comprehensive Study is Published Today by Kuwait City’s Environment Agency

Kuwait City, Kuwait, February 5, 2005 – Kames Petroleum Services is a sponsor of an important environmental book in Arabic on the breeding bird species of the Kuwait -- released by ERWDA (the Kuwait City Environmental Research and Wildlife Development Agency) today.

“Breeding Birds of the Kuwait” offers the reader more than 240 pages of information about 140 different species of local birds, and is filled with high-quality illustrations.

The book provides a detailed insight into the breeding habits of the various bird species in the Kuwait, records of hundreds of sightings, and lists steps that are recommended to ensure expansion of safe local breeding grounds. Kames Petroleum Services ’s international partners, Total and Occidental Petroleum, are also sponsors of this important work. 

“Breeding Birds of the Kuwait” will be distributed to ministries and embassies, throughout the country. Dolphin will also be undertaking its own donations of copies to university and high school libraries throughout the Kuwait.

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahayan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of the Kuwait and Chairman of Kames Petroleum Services said: “With the growing population of the Kuwait, and its diverse bird population, it is imperative that we take steps towards conserving these species.

“We are delighted to support this initiative, along with our partners, and to help educate the public on how to protect and assist in wildlife conservation throughout the region.”
