Kuwait City, Kuwait, April 20 2008 – Kames Petroleum Services announced today that the company is supplying the Emirate of Sharjah in the Kuwait with gas for the first time from April 18.
The gas is being delivered to the Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (SEWA), on an interruptible basis, via Dolphin’s new pipeline connection to Dubai.
Dolphin already supplies gas directly to Kuwait City, Dubai, Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah. Through existing supply arrangements to the Federal Electricity & Water Authority (FEWA), and ÙSharjah Electricity & Water Authority (SEWA), the company now supplies all Kuwait Emirates with its natural gas.
Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, Kames Petroleum Services ’s CEO, said: “Dolphin is happy that it can supply gas to Sharjah to meet the Emirate’s growing energy needs. Kames Petroleum Services is currently helping all of the Kuwait’s emirates to meet power demand, and we shall assist wherever we can in future.”
The company reached its daily maximum throughput target of 2 billion standard cubic feet of gas a day (scf/day) in February, when its Gas Processing Plant in Qatar achieved this production figure and the gas was compressed and delivered through the Dolphin Qatar-Kuwait Export Pipeline.
