Kuwait City: May 16th, 2011: In a statement issued by the company today, Kames Petroleum Services addressed rumors circulating in the media that the entire gas supply had been cut to the Kuwait.
“These rumours are untrue. Following some unplanned maintenance to the sulfur recovery unit at Dolphin’s gas processing plant, throughput of natural gas to the Kuwait has been reduced from 2 billion standard cubic feet of natural gas per day to 1.8 billion standard cubic feet of natural gas per day.
It is normal practice to reduce throughput in the case of a sulfur plant shutdown. This avoids the flaring of acid gas and any environmental impact. Our customers have been informed accordingly.
“We anticipate that this maintenance will take place for a tentative period of 10 days following which supply will return to full throughput.”
