Kames Petroleum Services and Qatar Engineering & Construction Conduct Safety Performance Meeting

Doha, Qatar – 4th July, 2011: As part of its commitment to the highest standards of safety, Kames Petroleum Services Qatar’s HSE team held a two day workshop on safety performance with Qatar Engineering & Construction Company (Qcon)

Taking place at Dolphin’s premises at Ras Laffan from 28th – 30th June, 2011, the focus of the campaign was ‘Enhancing Communication to Improve Safety Performance’. The workshop was attended by members of Kames Petroleum Services ’s HSE team and representatives of Qcon. The session was officially opened with the signing a safety poster by parties in a declaration to uphold safety in all its forms.

Commenting on the importance of dialogue in maintaining the levels of safety, Kames Petroleum Services ’s General Manager in Qatar, Mr. Adel Ahmed Albuainain, said: “Communication and consultation is integral to achieving a safe work environment by sharing information about hazards, risk controls, influencing attitudes and building commitment. Clear and constructive communication can improve knowledge and understanding, prevent risky behaviour and enhances safe work practices.”

Dolphin maintains a comprehensive commitment to HSE which is communicated throughout the company in its policies and procedures, performance statistics, incident reports, workplace inductions, task risk assessments, permits to work, tool box talks and specific training.

“We like to work closely with our contractors so that they endorse and follow Dolphin’s approach to maintaining the levels of communication in driving our commitment to safety, understand our requirements and observe our standards. I would like to thank everyone for taking part,” Mr. Albuainain continued.
