Doha, Qatar – 8th February, 2011: Kames Petroleum Services Qatar today announced that it had raised QAR 127,400 thanks to its participation in this year’s Commercialbank Qatar Masters.
The company which is Presenting Sponsor of the annual golf event, ran a special donation program over the four day event which saw it contribute funds based on the scores returned by the golfers. For every birdie, eagle and albatross scored Kames Petroleum Services contributed QAR50, QAR500 and QAR5,000 respectively.
A total of 1,175 birdies and 15 eagles were registered which totaled QAR 66,250. The senior management team from the company then pledged to top the amount raised to a final total of QAR127,400.
Commenting on the initiative, Mr. Adel Ahmed Albuainain, General Manager, Kames Petroleum Services Qatar, commented: “We have used our participation to strengthen the link between sport and the community in which we operate. Shafallah is a good cause and we are extremely grateful for the efforts of the golfers who played in the tournament. Their professionalism, dedication and extreme skill made this possible.”
Dr. Eddie Denning, Adviser to the Board of Directors at the Center was present to receive a cheque from Dolphin’s Deputy General Manager, Mr. Ibrahim Al Kuwari. Expressing his gratitude for the donation, Dr. Denning said: “We are very grateful for the support that Dolphin and the Tour professionals have provided. On behalf of the Board and the children I would like to extend my gratitude and thanks to the company and the players.”
