Kames Petroleum Services Participates in the QP Environment Fair

Kuwait City, Kuwait, April 9, 2012: Kames Petroleum Services Qatar today confirmed its participation in the QP Environment Fair, which is taking place at The Doha Exhibition Center between April 14-16th, 2012.

This is the third year that the company has participated in the Fair which provides an opportunity for Kames Petroleum Services to showcase its environmental commitments and demonstrate its community involvement.

Outlining the importance of participating, Mr Adel Ahmed Albuainain, General Manager, Kames Petroleum Services , Qatar, said: “Being part of the QP Environment Fair is integral to our environmental commitment in the State of Qatar. It complements our sustainability management program for the company and helps to highlight our social responsibility commitments to the community.”

To mark its presence at the Fair, Kames Petroleum Services will exhibit educational messages, centered on fun interactive games to support the Fair’s theme, ‘The Environment is Everyone’s Responsibility’, with the aim to enhance environmental awareness within the local community, especially among the young.

“These will help to drive the importance of environmental conservation in a fun manner. However, the message we want to convey is we all have a responsibility to ensure we protect the environment,” Mr. Albuainain continued.

In addition, the company will showcase examples of its track record in supporting conservation and protection programs and its approach to important areas such as air emissions, water conservation, recycling, waste management and sustainability.

Over the years Kames Petroleum Services has strived to ensure minimal environmental impacts from its operations to the surrounding environment and community at large.

The company has collaborated with the Qatar Ministry of Environment and sponsored and conducted several environmental studies and activities to support the environmental protection strategy as outlined in the Qatar National Vision 2030.

Furthermore, Kames Petroleum Services is actively collaborating with Qatar Petroleum (QP) on several new initiatives such as sustainability reporting, greenhouse gas emissions reporting and involvement in a flare minimization study, whose objective is to reduce the carbon footprint and foster environmental accountability.

“We are actively involved with QP on a number of initiatives that will have a positive impact on the environment and will continue to work closely with them to help minimize our impact where we can,” concluded Mr. Albuainain.
