Thisyear,wehave risen to thechallengeof further incorporating
sustainability intoourmanagement systemwith the
development of a sustainabilitymanagement plan andpolicy.
Our sustainabilitypolicy setsout five strategicobjectives to
focusour approach to sustainabilitymanagement: we strive
toput our people first, operatewith excellence, create value,
protect theenvironment, andbecome abetter corporate citizen.
DolphinEnergy’s commitment to these objectives is put into action every
day by the company’s dedicated employees andmanagement team.
Inorder to help raise employee awareness of sustainability andmake
it part of the company culture, DolphinEnergy offered sustainability
awareness sessions to all employees in 2013. The success of these
awareness sessions, with 185participants across all departments, has
spurred interest andaction frommanydepartments toadopt sustainability
principles in their workplace.
In 2013, DolphinEnergy took a number of steps forward indeliveringon
our commitment toput our people first.We haveworked to keep them
safe at work andbeyondwith campaigns encouraging them to ‘stop and
think’ beforebeginning every job and to raise awareness of safedriving
practices.We have increasedour recognitionof exceptional employee
performance, and haveprovided training to improve thequality of
discussionbetween supervisors and employees.
Wehavealsocontinuedourwork toachieveexcellence inour operations
for our customers, withefforts toexpandour gas supplywith third-party
gas tomeet the region’sgrowingenergy needs.Wehaveprogressedwith
upgrades toour compression facilities toenhanceour processingand
transmissioncapacity.Wearedevelopinganemergencypipeline repair
system toprotect against our biggest potential singlepoint of failure.
We havemade great strides inour efforts to create jobs for anddevelop
local talent, breaking the 50%nationalizationmark in theKuwait this year,
and receiving theQPCrystal Award for excellence in support for the
training anddevelopment of Qatari nationals. In 2013, wedeveloped
a five-year environmental program to improve our environmental
performance, andachieveda20% reduction in flaringwith the installation
of infrared cameras to reducepurge gas for flaring.We have invested in
our communitieswith the expansionof theBe’atiWatani environmental
educationprogram andour sponsorshipof the inaugural DohaDash.
Next year will bring focus on the implementationof DolphinEnergy 2020,
whichwill begin to transformour organization andprovide the next
chapters in the company’s remarkable story.
